For the duration of the tour, our college students learned about the building’s history and that of the village.

Tai O is a fishing town on the west of Hong Kong’s Lantau Island. Also identified as the “Venice of Hong Kong”, it is a renowned attraction for each foreigners and locals. Guests could see Chinese White Dolphins off the coast too.

The Tai O Heritage Hotel is located mid-slope up a hill located at the tip of Tai O. Previously, the hotel employed to be a police station that was built by the British in 1902. Interior designers who worked on the undertaking had to be careful to make confident the unique walls and structures remained intact. And that new fixtures could be simply removed.

The selection to revamp the previous police station into a hotel rather of a museum was because museums are challenging to keep. Getting a hotel in Tai O makes it possible for visitors to be ready to devote far more time exploring the village.

Designers who took on the process of revamping the school had to operate with an unconventional college style, an inconvenient terrain, and the challenge to develop an innovative search.
